What is acne?
Acne is the term for the blocked pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that can appear typically on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. Suspected factors causing Acne include an increase in androgens (male sex hormones) associated with puberty in both boys and girls, hormonal changes during pregnancy or when starting or stopping the use of birth control pills, heredity, certain drugs such as lithium, and the use of greasy cosmetics. Chocolate and oily or greasy foods do not precipitate acne. While acne affects mostly teenagers, and almost all teenagers have some form of acne, adults of any age can have it. Acne does not affect one gender more than the other. However, men are more likely to have severe acne Acne lesions range in severity from comedones to nodules and cysts. Acne can cause scarring and emotional distress. When hair follicles become plugged, sebum cannot reach the surface of the skin. This blocked sebum promotes the growth of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes, or P. acnes) beneath the skin, which in turn produce chemicals and enzymes that attract white blood cells, causing inflammation. Eventually the follicle wall breaks down and the sebum, skin cells and bacteria erupt to form lesions or pimples. Picking/opening up pimples can make it worse. Pimples should never be opened except by a dermatologist because of the risk of infection. Other things that can cause acne to worsen are:
  • Hard scrubbing of the skin;
  • Friction caused by leaning on or rubbing the skin;
  • Pressure from bike helmets, backpacks, or tight collars;
  • Environmental irritants, such as pollution and high humidity.
Acne & Acne Scar treatment Early intervention is best to minimize breakouts and scarring. Acne treatment varies depending on the type and severity of lesions, skin type and the patient’s age and life; on average, results are visible in six to eight weeks. Options include:
  • Topical and/or oral medications
  • Acne peels
  • Laser resurfacing
  • Soft tissue fillers
  • Dermabrasion and microdermabrasion
Even after acne clears, you may be left with troublesome scars. Fade away your deep scar marks with our latest generation Micro needling RF (MNRF) laser and smooth shallow texture irregularities with skin peels.
Warts are a common condition that develops on different areas of the body as a result of infection by a type of human papillomavirus (HPV). There are several different types of warts, which may have a different appearance and tend to occur in different areas. In general, warts tend to appear on warm, moist parts of the body, such as the hands, feet, knees and elbows. Warts are most common in children and young adults, as they are passed through direct contact with an infected area. Warts often appear as small skin growths that may be flat or slightly raised, and can be brown, gray, pink or skin-colored. While warts are not usually considered harmful, they may be painful or embarrassing and should be thoroughly treated to relieve symptoms and prevent them from spreading to other people or other parts of the body. Most warts can be treated through conservative methods such as applying salicylic acid by undergoing cryotherapy (freezing) treatments. Resistant warts may require surgical treatment through excision or laser surgery. In most cases, treatment is permanent and warts do not return. There are certain preventive measures that can be taken to prevent warts from spreading, including avoiding sharing towels, razors and other personal items.
Laser hair reduction is done by a light device. It is sensitive to color that’s the reason it works best on black and thick hairs. Our variety of lasers and pulsed lights allow us to treat the widest range of skin types and hair colors. We can treat just about any area you are looking to reduce hair; face, underarms, legs, arms & back. Removing unwanted body hair is a troubling process for both men and women. People who are tired of the temporary, painful methods of removing hair benefit from laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure used to remove unwanted body hair with intense pulsed laser energy. This minimally invasive procedure removes hair through a series of treatments while leaving the surrounding skin and tissue unharmed. Through this safe and convenient procedure, patients can enjoy long-term hair removal from nearly any area of their body. Excessive hair growth may be caused by a number of different reasons, including puberty, pregnancy, menopause, heredity, medication or disease. It is important for patients to have realistic expectations about laser hair removal in order to be satisfied with their results. Laser Hair Removal Procedure These procedures are done over a period of time at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks and requires usually 6 to 8 sittings. During the laser hair removal procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the area to prevent pain and discomfort. The laser is then moved across the targeted area with a hand held device to treat the area with intense laser pulses. Hair follicles in the active growth state are disabled. Patients may experience the sensation of a rubber band snapping the skin during this procedure, but most are able to tolerate the procedure well. The length and quantity of treatments depends upon the location of the hair and the patient’s individual response to treatment. Results of Laser Hair Removal After laser hair removal, patients may experience some redness and swelling in the treated area, but these symptoms usually go away on their own within a few days. Patients can return to work and other normal activities immediately after treatment. Excessive sun exposure should be avoided for some time after laser hair removal. The results of the laser hair removal procedure are visible immediately, but hair may continue to grow until the full course of treatment is complete. Although the results of laser hair removal may not be permanent, they are longer than the results of other hair removal methods. Through multiple treatment sessions, long-term results may be possible for many patients. The most common complication of laser hair removal is regrowth of the unwanted hair, which can often be relieved through additional treatment sessions.
Wrinkles
We provide a wide range of wrinkle treatments to help restore a natural, younger-looking appearance that help patients look as good as they feel. Treatment depends on the cause and severity of wrinkles, as well as the age and personal preference of the patient, and may include:
  • Topical creams
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Laser treatments
  • Chemical peels
  • Soft tissue fillers
  • Facelift
We will work with you to determine the most effective treatment plan for you and help you achieve a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.   As we grow older, the cumulative effects of sun, gravity, genetics, and other factors cause facial structures to descend, producing jowls and other physical signs of aging. In today’s world of patients wishing less invasive procedures, we have extensive experience using combinations of lasers, various fillers, and energy based skin tightening to create improvements. Some patients are candidates for laser skin resurfacing.  Injectable fillers can soften the shadowing that occurs in nasolabial folds and marionette line creases, making the jowls and cheek folds appear less prominent. Chemical peels are also an effective way to tighten and rejuvenate the skin. Finally, preventative maintenance with a daily medical grade skin care product line is also imperative in keeping healthy and youthful appearing skin. Derma Fillers We can help you reduce the visible signs of aging and restore the youthful appearance of your face with Filler injections which offer a quick and easy way to restore lost facial volume and enhance the contours of the face. Dermal filler  comes in the form of an injectable gel that gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also “plump up” the lips, sculpt the cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face. It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin. Because it is non-animal-based and highly biocompatible, no pre-treatment testing is needed. Results can last approximately six to nine months, but individual results can vary. The injection process is not painful and formula contains lidocaine to help reduce discomfort.There is no lengthy recovery period required and normal daily activities can be resumed right away. Under Eye & Dark Circles Dermal fillers are a minimally-invasive injectable treatment that can help improve bags and dark circles beneath the eyes. A small amount of filler injected in the proper manner blends the eye bag with the upper cheek, restoring a youthful, rested appearance to the eyes. The skin in the eye area is very delicate, so it is important to work with a doctor who has extensive experience treating the eyes with fillers. In the proper hands, the treatment is very safe and effective.
Like scars, stretch marks cannot be completely erased, but can, in most cases, be nicely improved. Red stretch marks can be quickly and easily faded with flashes of specialised laser. White stretch marks can become smoother and more even-toned with the laser treatment.
